Division of Structural Engineering

The Structural Engineering Division is one of the four specialization divisions available to students starting from their 4th year of study in the Department of Civil Engineering.

The main subjects of focus of the Structural Engineering Division include Rigid and Deformable Body Mechanics, Structural Analysis and Dynamics, Numerical Methods and Structural Simulation Techniques, Structural Stability, Elastoplastic Analysis of Structures, Experimental Methods for studying Structural Behavior, Design of Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete Structures (including Earthquake-Resistant Design), Design of Steel and Composite Structures, Design of Load-Bearing Masonry Structures, Assessment and Strengthening of Existing Structures, Design of Surface and Shell Structures, Soil-Structure Interaction, Fluid-Structure Interaction, Fire Design of Structures, as well as the Design of Offshore Structures.

The primary goal of the Division is to provide modern, high-level knowledge in the field of Structural Engineering through its educational activities, as well as to promote research into the latest developments in science and technology.
