Division of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering
The Division of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering (DGGE) is one of the four specialization divisions available to students starting from their 4th year of study in the Department of Civil Engineering.
The field of DGGE covers the following scientific areas: soil-structure interaction, retaining structures, rock mechanics, geothermal energy, engineering geology, geohazards, geotechnical earth structures, technical geology, geotechnical earthquake engineering, soil dynamics, soil mechanics, embankments, slope stability, foundations (shallow and deep), constitutive laws in geotechnical engineering, experimental soil mechanics, environmental geotechnical engineering, tunnels and underground works, offshore geotechnical engineering, computational geotechnical engineering, and dams. The courses offered by DGGE analyze all the subject areas and scientific directions of the division.
The primary goal of DGGE is to provide modern, high-level knowledge in the field of Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental Civil Engineering through its educational activities, as well as to promote research into the latest developments in science and technology.
