Mr. Emilios M. Comodromos serves on the Department of Civil Engineering since 1999, initially as Assistant Professor and since 2011 as a Full Professor. He is a civil engineer of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. with postgraduate studies (D.E.A.) at Ecole Centrale Paris and doctoral studies at AUTH. His research interests include the analysis and design of infrastructure projects, soil-structure interaction, the use of numerical methods to simulate and solve complex engineering problems as well as the optimization of constitutional laws for soil materials and soil-structure interfaces. He has been designer, consultant engineer and checker for project design including foundation, landslides, tunnels, bridges, retaining structures, soil or reinforced embankments and rock-fill dams. He is the author of more than 90 publications in international journals and conferences and the author of two books on Computational Geotechnical Engineering and the Design of Foundations.
